ENGINEERING SERVICES

Meplex VDC TECH LLC — Engineering Services (BIM-First)

Meplex delivers BIM-driven engineering that lowers cost, reduces rework, and improves design quality for MEP firms and multidisciplinary teams. We tailor workflows to your standards, schedule, and budget, turning design intent into coordinated, constructible, data-rich models that accelerate approvals and cut RFIs. (CAD drafting/documentation is available as a separate Meplex service.)

Building & Design Development

We guide projects from schematic design to contract documents using disciplined BIM execution. Our engineers prepare coordinated drawings and model views across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, while producing early cost opinions grounded in model quantities. With federated models, we visualize complex systems, prevent inter-trade conflicts, and generate accurate, standards-aligned documentation—making design decisions clearer and faster. We import/export across common formats for smooth design reviews.

Clash Detection & Constructability Review

Using Navisworks/Solibri and your CDE (e.g., ACC/Revizto), we run targeted clash tests, curate 3D viewpoints, and drive resolution with accountable issue tracking. Constructability checks confirm routing, access, service clearances, tolerances, hangers/supports, and installation sequences. The result is fewer field surprises, leaner installation, and a tighter schedule—with every change logged against the BEP for auditability.

Design Validation & Engineering Calculations

We validate the design inside the BIM environment: lighting illuminance (lux) checks, electrical load and panel schedules, load balancing, HVAC heat-load and airflow calculations, pump head and pipe sizing, equipment selection and schedules, and safety/maintenance clearances. Parameters are governed so schedules, tags, and QTOs remain consistent across views, sheets, and revisions.

Value Engineering (VE)

Meplex applies VE early—when impact is highest—and again at key gates if contractor proposals arise. We generate practical alternates (materials, routings, spans, equipment sizing, prefab/modularization) and evaluate them on cost, schedule, carbon, and risk using model-based quantities and 4D logistics.
VE involves: identifying value drivers; analyzing functions; proposing alternatives; assessing performance/cost; allocating costs; and developing the best options into executable recommendations—with model views, QTOs, and implementation steps.

IFC / Tender Drawings (Issued for Construction)

“Issued for Construction” sets are generated directly from our coordinated BIM so drawings match what will be built and what authorities have approved. We include floor plans with verified system sizes and scales; schematic/riser diagrams for continuity and branch connections; detailed/enlarged views with typical installations and mock-ups; complete equipment schedules; sections at critical areas; and block-out/penetration drawings coordinated with structural and MEP requirements. All equipment is documented with required service clearances.

Quantity Take-Off (QTO) & 4D/5D Support

Quantities are driven from governed model parameters and auto-update as the design evolves. We structure QTOs by trade, level, zone, WBS, and time (4D) to align procurement with look-ahead plans, reduce inventory, and cut waste. Cost codes and rate libraries enable live 5D estimates, change impact analysis, and predicted-vs-actual tracking for earned-value and cash-flow reporting. Exports are delivered in Excel and database-ready formats for deeper analysis.
